One of the main tools that I always had in my armoury when bringing up my youngster is that of toys.  Not just any old stuff, which he may have ended up with if I hadn’t done a little digging about on the Internet.  If you have a look around on the Internet on the topic of Child Development, one of the key aspects written about is on Child Development Play and the important role it plays.  In support of this important topic, there a number of good quality Child Development Toys.

Depending on the child’s age, you may choose a different Child Development Toy.  To help my discovery on what makes a good Child Development Toy, I did some research on something called The Lamaze Infant Development System.  Basically this system gave me an idea on what toy would be most suitable for my son’s age group.  To give you an idea, and credit to Lamaze Toys for this, Child Development Toys can be grouped into a category based on age group.  Depending on the age group, the toy is aimed at one of three Child Development Stages.  These are

Birth to 24 months – Awakening the senses

6 to 24 months – Exploring and Experimenting

9 to 24 months – Moving and Doing

As mentioned previously, one of the first toys I first purchased was a multi-coloured and multi-textured Octopus.  The Octopus had bells sewn inside it.  So as he got older, when it wasn’t being chewed, it was being shaken to bits.   Definitely a toy that he spent a lot of time with and one that outlasted quite a few that were bought much later, a particular goal of the Lamaze toys.  This toy was definitely placed correctly in the ‘Awakening the senses’ category.  Here is a picture of the actual toy in question, great quality and definitely worth it’s weight in gold in keeping my youngster occupied.

As he grew we introduced him to other toys, both Lamaze and others, and I will write about some of the better ones.  Hopefully this short article will have given you some ideas to start off your collection of useful Child Development Toys, in your quest for Child Development Made Simple.  Choosing the right toy can not only provide your child with all the stimulation he or she needs, but also provide hours of enjoyment.
